How much does an explainer video cost?
I quote for the work your video needs. Here is what to compare before you choose a price.
A video length alone is not enough to price a project. A short animation with custom characters can need very different work from a product walkthrough using screens you already have.
I start with your audience, what they need to understand, and where the main video will be used. Then I can suggest an approach and agree a price before production.
Compare what is included
Before comparing two quotes, check whether they cover the same work:
- The plan. Who writes the script and builds the storyboard? When do you review them?
- The picture and sound. Are design, animation or editing, voiceover and music included? Which materials will you supply?
- The reviews. How many review rounds are included, and what happens if the agreed scope changes?
- The final files. Which lengths, formats and languages are included? Are source files part of the quote?
- The usage. Check whether any music, footage, font or voice licence limits where you can use the film.
What changes the amount of work
- Scenes and detail. The number of ideas, custom visuals and product actions matters alongside the running time.
- Starting materials. Clear brand files and current product screens help define what I need to make.
- Sound and language. The voice, music, captions and language versions need to be agreed.
- Deadline. Tell me the actual date and leave time for your review. I will confirm what fits before committing.
- Changes. A new message or direction after approval can change the work. I explain that before doing extra production.
Where AI fits
AI can be one production method. It does not give every project the same cost or finish time. Exact product details, brand consistency, corrections and the final edit still need care.
I recommend animation, footage, product screens, AI or a mix based on what your viewer needs to understand and what fits your brand.
Plan the main film first
Choose the main audience and placement before adding extra versions. I agree the extra formats at the start, then make them after you approve the main film. This keeps the review focused on the story before it is adapted.
For a useful first quote, send me your website, the message you want to explain, where the video will live, your deadline and the budget you have in mind.
How I quote
I quote per project. You do not need a finished script to start. Bring your idea and a reference if you have one. I will explain what the scope covers and where it may need adjusting.

Common questions
How much does an explainer video cost?
I quote for each project. Length, visual style, existing materials, voiceover, review rounds and deadline affect the work. Share your website, audience, main placement and budget so I can recommend a scope. The price is agreed before production.
What should an explainer video quote include?
Ask which parts are included: script, storyboard, design, animation or editing, voiceover, music, review rounds and final formats. Confirm any licensing or extra-version costs before production.
Does using AI always make a video cheaper?
No. It depends on what needs to be made and checked. Brand consistency, exact product details, corrections and finishing still take work. I recommend a production approach for the message and agree the scope before quoting.
